Powering a Clean Energy Future for All

Bluepoint Wind is an offshore wind project in the early stages of development located off the coast of New Jersey and New York.

Our goal is to responsibly develop a 1,700 MW project and to collaborate with regional stakeholders through long-term partnerships that benefit local communities, ecosystems, and economies.

About

Bluepoint Wind

Bluepoint Wind is a partnership between Ocean Winds, an international offshore wind energy company created by EDP Renewables and ENGIE (50:50), and Global Infrastructure Partners.

Together, these companies have a successful track record of over 50 years of experience in development, financing, construction, and operation of renewables projects, including more than 15 years on offshore wind projects. OW has offshore wind farm projects currently under development, construction, or operating in communities all over the world, including in the UK, France, Belgium, Portugal, Poland, Korea, and – closer to home – in Massachusetts and California.

About the

Future Wind Farm

Bluepoint Wind plans to build an offshore wind farm within its ocean lease area located 38 nautical miles (nm) off the coast of New York and 53 nm off the coast of New Jersey. At full capacity, this wind farm will be able to generate 1.7 gigawatts (GW) of clean wind energy – powering up to 900,000 residential homes and helping NY and NJ meet their ambitious clean energy and carbon emissions reduction goals.

Bluepoint Wind’s Agency Communication Plan (ACP), required by BOEM under Lease Stipulation 3.1.2.3, can be found here. This document outlines Bluepoint Wind’s plan for outreach with federal, state, and local agencies throughout all phases of the wind farm’s development.
