NJEDA Offshore Wind Roundtable: Maritime Services and Workforce

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority is proudly recognizing National Maritime Day on Wednesday, May 22 by hosting a roundtable event that will bring together maritime industry stakeholders in offshore wind. Celebrating the maiden voyage of America’s first steam-powered ship across the Atlantic, a symbol of American ingenuity, courage and the birth of a new industry, National Maritime Day is an appropriate occasion to herald the dawn of new offshore wind opportunities for the maritime industry.

Please join us for an opportunity to meet mariners, vessel operators and surveyors (to name a few) who are crossing new waters to work together across state lines and build a modern example of American ingenuity.

This roundtable will host businesses from the local Maritime industry, those with existing contracts in Offshore Wind, training providers and other related service companies to discuss opportunities to collaborate, and lessons learned through the first projects being built on the east coast.

The topics to be covered include:

·    Required services e.g., survey, research, bunkering, fuel, EPC etc.

·    Gaps, challenges in growing the workforce and enhancing existing services

·    Training, upskilling, apprenticeships, and career pathways

·    Global innovative workforce and business solutions
